Brooklyn, NY (February 21, 2025) – A tragic apartment fire in Crown Heights early Friday morning left one person dead and another injured.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a fire at 1528 Bedford Avenue around 8:14 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames on the third floor of a four-story apartment building. While battling the fire, crews located a person with life-threatening injuries inside the affected unit. Despite efforts from medical personnel, the individual was later pronounced deceased.
A second person sustained minor injuries and was transported by emergency responders for medical evaluation. Officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control by 8:40 a.m., and a secondary search of the building found no additional victims.
