Bronx, NY (December 1, 2024) – A 60-year-old man tragically lost his life early Saturday morning after being struck by a BMW that was involved in a violent crash on Eastchester Rd in Baychester. The incident occurred just before 12:10 a.m. when a 24-year-old BMW driver, traveling east on Eastchester Rd, collided with a pickup truck heading north on Givan Ave.
The force of the crash sent the BMW careening toward a row of parked cars along the street. The BMW struck an Acura, a Nissan Murano, and the 60-year-old man who was standing next to a parked SUV. The vehicle continued its dangerous path, colliding with a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry before finally coming to a stop.
EMS personnel quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the BMW, who sustained only injuries, was also transported to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment. However, the driver of the pickup truck involved in the crash fled the scene and is still being sought by police. The NYPD has launched an investigation into the incident, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.
