Brick, NJ (December 27, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision early Friday morning on Route 70 in Brick resulted in the death of one driver and left another critically injured. The crash occurred when an SUV, driven by an intoxicated man, traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck another vehicle near a busy plaza.
The female driver of the car was partially ejected from her vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rescued from the wreckage and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Authorities have charged the man with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple agencies involved, and no further details have been released.
