Boulder County, CO (October 7, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred late Sunday night, October 6 resulting in the death of a 75-year-old man. The Colorado State Patrol is actively searching for the driver responsible for this fatal crash, which was reported just before 11 PM on Highway 36 near Longhorn Road.
According to authorities, the victim was walking in the middle of the highway when he was struck by a white pickup truck traveling northbound. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, the elderly man succumbed to his injuries.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was able to capture dash cam footage of the suspect vehicle, which is believed to be either a GMC Sierra or a Chevy Silverado, likely from the model years 2007 to 2012. The truck is described as having a chrome front bumper, a black grill, and possibly black wheels. Damage to the vehicle may include significant damage to the front driver side bumper, as well as damage to the grill and fog light housing.
