Blount County, AL (November 2, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision occurred Friday evening on Highway 79, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to a man. The accident took place around 7:33 p.m., approximately three miles southwest of Locust Fork.
According to Alabama State Troopers, the victim has been identified as 31-year-old Kali M. Heaton, a resident of Remlap. Reports indicate that Heaton was driving a Mazda 3 when she collided head-on with a Ford Ranger operated by 44-year-old Joshua Cory Dean Carr from Arab.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Heaton was pronounced dead at the scene. Carr sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
