Bloomington, MN (February 4, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle occurred early Monday morning on westbound I-494 at Highway 169 in Bloomington, Hennepin County.
According to reports, the accident took place at approximately 6:33 a.m. when a 2009 Chevy Impala traveling in the right lane lost control, spinning and sliding across multiple lanes of traffic. A 2021 Freightliner semi-truck, which was traveling in the left lane, collided with the driver’s side of the Chevy Impala.
The driver of the Chevy Impala, identified as 45-year-old Yadira Gabriela Hernandezaguilar of Shakopee, MN, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Emergency medical personnel responded to the crash, but tragically, no transport to a medical facility was required.
The semi-truck driver, identified as 76-year-old George Leslie Jensen of Eagan, MN, was unharmed in the collision. Authorities confirmed that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.
Emergency responders, including Allina and the Eden Prairie Fire Department, assisted at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
