Birmingham, AL (November 15, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Thursday at 5:23 p.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Finley Blvd, between 16th St and 17th St North. Emergency responders from Birmingham Fire and Rescue were quickly on the scene, providing care to the victim. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian, an adult Black male, was tragically pronounced dead at 5:38 p.m. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene, and the incident is currently under investigation by the Birmingham Police Department. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
