Birmingham, AL (September 23, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred early Friday morning when an 82-year-old man lost his life in a fire at a mobile home located in the 3600 block of Field Street. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Harold Edward Wright.
The fire was reported at approximately 5 a.m. on September 22, prompting a swift response from Graysville Fire & Rescue and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Wright’s body inside the residence. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office, while the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the circumstances surrounding Wright’s death.
