Birmingham, AL (December 8, 2024) – Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) responded to an apartment fire on Saturday evening in the 2100 block of Slayden Ave. The fire, reported around 3:18 p.m., left one person hospitalized while another resident was assessed for injuries at the scene.
When crews arrived, they found the apartment engulfed in smoke and worked quickly to control the blaze. One resident required transportation to a local hospital for further medical care, while the other did not need additional treatment.
