Big Rapids Township, MI (December 25, 2024) – A head-on crash near Big Rapids on Tuesday evening sent a woman and a child to the hospital with injuries. The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office reported the collision occurred around 5:40 PM on Perry Ave near Venlo Dr.
According to deputies, a vehicle traveling eastbound on Perry Ave crossed the turn lane into westbound traffic and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle. The driver of the eastbound car, a 30-year-old woman from Mecosta City, and her passenger, an 8-year-old child, sustained injuries in the crash. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
