Bethany, MO (December 17, 2024) – Emergency crews responded to a serious head-on collision Monday afternoon on MO 13, approximately four miles south of Bethany, at the intersection with Route MM. The crash occurred at approximately 4:51 p.m. and involved two vehicles.
The incident occurred when the 58-year-old female driver of a 2018 Ford Fusion, traveling southbound on MO 13, attempted to make a left turn onto Route MM. As she did so, her vehicle collided with a northbound 1998 Ford F150, driven by a 44-year-old female from Bethany. The front of the Ford Fusion struck the front of the Ford F150. After the impact, both vehicles left the roadway, with the Ford Fusion coming to rest facing north and the Ford F150 coming to rest facing northeast.
The driver of the Ford F150 suffered serious injuries and was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. The driver of the Ford Fusion sustained moderate injuries and was taken by NTA Ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. The Ford F150 will be towed by a private vehicle at a later time, and the Ford Fusion was towed by Southside MFA.
The crash is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from Tpr. T.B. Heintz and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
