Berkeley Township, NJ (January 12, 2025) – A serious motor vehicle accident occurred on Route 9 near Hickory Lane on Saturday, leaving one person injured and temporarily shutting down the roadway. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist and manage the situation.
According to Berkeley Township Police, the crash happened when a Ford F-250 towing a trailer attempted to turn around and struck a concrete block on the shoulder. The impact left the truck and trailer stationary in the middle of the road. While the Ford’s driver was outside inspecting the damage, a southbound Toyota Corolla collided with the stationary vehicle, causing significant damage and deploying the Corolla’s airbags.
The injured individual was treated on-site by paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and care. The condition of the injured party has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities temporarily closed Route 9 in both directions to investigate the crash and clear the roadway. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes until the area was reopened.
