According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, pedestrian-related accidents are a leading cause of injury and fatality in the state. Contributing factors often include poor visibility, driver inattention, and unpredictable pedestrian movements. While speed and impairment were not factors in this incident, it highlights the need for both drivers and pedestrians to exercise heightened caution.
