Preventing Two-Vehicle Crashes
To reduce the risk of accidents, especially in busy urban areas, here are a few important tips for drivers:
- Always Stop at Red Lights and Stop Signs: Never run a red light or ignore a stop sign. These are key to ensuring that intersections remain safe for all drivers and pedestrians.
- Yield When Necessary: If you’re entering a highway or a busy intersection, always yield the right of way to avoid colliding with other vehicles.
- Avoid Distracted Driving: Distracted driving, such as texting or using a phone, is one of the leading causes of accidents. Always keep your focus on the road.
- Check Blind Spots: Before changing lanes or merging, ensure your blind spots are clear of other vehicles to prevent side collisions.
- Adhere to Speed Limits: Following posted speed limits helps reduce the severity of accidents and gives you time to react in case of an emergency.
