Bellefontaine, OH (February 18, 2025) – A crash on State Route 47 Monday afternoon left one person seriously injured and another with injuries, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that 20-year-old Peyton Cox was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala westbound near Township Road 211 when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the right side of the road, struck a pole, and then crashed into a wooded embankment.

Authorities cited Cox for failure to control his vehicle, and the accident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their full recovery.
Vehicle Accidents in Ohio
Vehicle crashes, like the one on State Route 47, can result from road conditions, driver fatigue, and loss of control at high speeds. Rural roads often pose additional hazards due to narrow lanes, sharp curves, and roadside obstacles such as utility poles and embankments.
Ohio law requires drivers to maintain control of their vehicles at all times. Losing control, even momentarily, can lead to serious injuries and significant vehicle damage. In many cases, driver inexperience or sudden evasive maneuvers contribute to these crashes.
For accident victims, dealing with medical bills, lost wages, and long-term recovery can be challenging. Seeking appropriate medical care and understanding available legal options can be crucial steps in recovery
