Belle Glade, FL (November 24, 2024) – A tragic incident unfolded Sunday morning when a vehicle crashed into a canal along State Rd 880, also known as East Canal St, resulting in one fatality. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:15 a.m. after reports of a vehicle entering the canal following an accident.
Rescue crews, including dive units, quickly responded to the 29000 block of State Rd 880 to search the water for the submerged vehicle. Upon locating the vehicle, they discovered one occupant inside, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. No additional injuries were reported, and the identity of the victim, along with further details, remains undisclosed pending investigation.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine what led to the crash.
