Bear, DE (January 10, 2025) – A serious motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a box truck occurred on Bear Corbitt Rd near the Delaware Logistics Center at approximately 4:35 PM on Thursday. Multiple emergency response units were dispatched to the scene following reports of entrapment.
Upon arrival, units from the Goodwill Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company, and Port Penn Fire Company discovered a 35-year-old male driver trapped inside the pickup truck. Firefighters worked swiftly to extricate the individual from the wreckage. The driver sustained serious but stable injuries, including extremity injuries, torso injuries, and potential internal injuries.
The injured driver was transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton by Delaware City Ambulance, with advanced life support provided en route by New Castle County Paramedics. The condition of the box truck driver has not been disclosed.
