Baton Rouge, LA (February 28, 2025) – A tragic crash on LSU’s campus Wednesday night resulted in the deaths of a student-athlete and a 23-year-old motorcyclist.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:07 p.m. when the driver of a Honda Accord, traveling south on Nicholson Drive, attempted to turn left onto South Quad Drive. During the turn, the vehicle was struck by a northbound motorcycle, leading to a devastating collision.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified the motorcyclist as 23-year-old Bohdi Linton. The other victim was LSU freshman track and field student-athlete Dillon Reidenauer. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but both individuals succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the driver of the Honda Accord, and an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the families, teammates, and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.

Motorcycle Collisions in Louisiana

Motorcycle accidents often result in severe injuries or fatalities, particularly at high-traffic intersections like Nicholson Drive and South Quad Drive. Many of these crashes involve left-turning vehicles, where drivers may misjudge the speed or distance of an approaching motorcycle.

Louisiana reports a high rate of motorcycle-related fatalities, with statistics indicating that speeding, lack of visibility, and failure to yield are leading causes. Motorcycle riders are especially vulnerable in collisions with larger vehicles due to the lack of protective barriers.

Families impacted by fatal motorcycle accidents often face emotional devastation, financial burdens, and long legal processes in seeking justice and closure. Understanding available resources and legal options can be critical for those left to navigate the aftermath.
