Bates, MO (November 12, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Hwy B and Hwy P, resulting in injuries and extensive vehicle damage. Emergency responders and the Bates County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
The crash happened around 7:40 AM. According to reports, a 2006 Buick Rendezvous, driven by an 85-year-old woman from Schell City, MO, was attempting to make a left turn when it collided with a 1984 Toyota SR-5 traveling westbound. The impact caused the Toyota to veer off the road and strike a fence.
The driver of the Toyota, a 37-year-old man from Appleton City, MO, sustained injuries. He was transported via private vehicle to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Buick was uninjured. Both vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene by Douty’s Towing.
