Barry County, MO (November 11, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred late Sunday morning on Missouri Highway 39, approximately one mile north of Jenkins. Emergency responders were called to the scene to assist the injured.
The crash took place at around 11:40 AM and involved a 2003 Ford Escape and a 2019 Ford Fusion. According to reports, the Ford Escape, driven by a 19-year-old female from Kearney, MO, crossed the center line and struck the Ford Fusion, driven by an 18-year-old male from Aurora, MO, head-on. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Escape suffered moderate injuries, while a 50-year-old female passenger from Holt, MO, sustained injuries. Both were transported to Mercy Hospital Joplin for treatment. The driver of the Ford Fusion was reportedly uninjured. Local towing companies, Brice’s Towing of Cassville and Schrader’s Towing of Shell Knob, removed the vehicles from the crash site. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, along with MSG J. Givens, assisted at the scene.
