Bardstown, KY – Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision on Bluegrass Pkwy

Bardstown, KY (September 2, 2024) – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday evening, August 31 on Bluegrass Pkwy. Kentucky State Police Post 4 responded to the collision near the 13-mile marker at about 5:45 p.m. 

Preliminary reports indicate that a 17-year-old male from Cox Creek was traveling westbound when he crossed the median and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Patrick Reed, 40, of Bardstown. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner’s Office. Reed and two passengers were taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bluegrass Pkwy was closed for several hours for reconstruction. 

The investigation is ongoing.
