Bakersfield, CA (November 8, 2024) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified 62-year-old Filamer Baray as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred earlier this month on Elmo Highway at Scofield Avenue.
The collision happened when a gray 2016 Ram 3500, driven by a 36-year-old Porterville man, was traveling eastbound on Elmo Highway. The truck collided with a silver 1993 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on Scofield Avenue. Baray, who was driving the Toyota, sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Authorities have not released further information regarding the cause of the collision or the condition of the Ram driver. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
