Aurora, CO (January 18, 2025) – A tragic collision occurred Friday afternoon on East Jewell Avenue, claiming the life of a male driver and leaving the Aurora community in shock.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Jewell Ave and Old Tom Morris Rd, near Murphy Creek Golf Course. According to Aurora Police spokesperson Sydney Edwards, the incident involved a Honda Civic and a Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Honda Civic reportedly turned left into the path of a westbound Nissan Altima traveling at a high rate of speed. The two vehicles collided with significant force. Paramedics rushed the male driver of the Honda to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The female driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
