Aurdal Twp, MN (December 6, 2024) – A fatal collision occurred on Highway 210, near Mile Marker 33 in Aurdal Township, Otter Tail County, on December 5, 2024, at approximately 9:19 AM. The crash involved a 2024 Western Star Tractor Truck and a 2006 Cadillac SRX. The two vehicles collided when the Cadillac, traveling westbound, collided with the eastbound semi-truck.
Emergency responders from Otter Tail County Deputies, Fergus Falls Fire, Ringdahl, and MNDOT quickly arrived on the scene. Despite efforts to assist, the driver of the Cadillac, 18-year-old Cadence Monroe Hartman from Battle Lake, MN, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, 63-year-old David Duane Marsh from Staples, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported to a healthcare facility.
The semi-truck did not have airbags deployed, while the Cadillac’s airbags did deploy. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The road was briefly impacted as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances of the accident. Local authorities continue to investigate, with assistance from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Fergus Falls Fire, and MNDOT.
