Augusta, ME (September 18, 2024) – A 17-year-old boy has tragically died from injuries sustained in a crash on Civic Center Dr on Tuesday, September 17. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. in front of the Rusty Lantern at 670 Civic Center Dr.

Investigators report that a pickup truck was driving southbound when it struck the moped as the boy attempted to turn left into the store’s parking lot. The young rider was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The 47-year-old driver of the truck from Farmingdale was not injured in the collision.
