Augusta, GA (January 2, 2025) – A tragic house fire claimed the life of a 78-year-old man on Wednesday evening, according to the Augusta Fire Department. The victim, identified as Ernest Lamb, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire on the 3400 block of Winesap Way.

Firefighters responded to the structure fire at approximately 5:34 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a fire had occurred inside the home. Despite their efforts, Lamb was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m.
