Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania
Pedestrian-related accidents are a serious concern across Pennsylvania, particularly in busy urban areas and intersections near hospitals, schools, and commercial centers. Accidents like the one at Freeport Rd and Delafield Rd often occur when drivers fail to see pedestrians while making turns, speeding through crosswalks, or driving while distracted.
According to PennDOT, pedestrian accidents frequently result in severe or life-threatening injuries, including head trauma, fractures, and internal injuries, due to the lack of protection for pedestrians in a collision. Many of these accidents happen during early morning or late evening hours when visibility is lower.
Victims of pedestrian accidents may face lengthy hospital stays, rehabilitation, and significant medical expenses. If a driver’s negligence contributed to the crash, injured pedestrians or their families may have legal options to pursue compensation for medical costs, pain and suffering, and lost wages.
