Ashland County, OH (September 9, 2024) – A tragic accident involving an Amish buggy occurred on Monday, September 9. The crash happened around 6:10 a.m. on U.S. 42 in Jackson Township.
A 2014 Ram 3500 truck rear-ended the buggy, causing it to veer off the road and hit a guardrail. William Miller, 31, of Polk, the driver of the buggy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The buggy lacked a yellow flashing light but had reflective tape and a lantern. The truck driver was uninjured and wearing a seatbelt. No alcohol or drugs were involved. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
