Arnaudville, LA – Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash on La. Hwy 31 near Melanie Ln

Arnaudville, LA (September 11, 2024) – A 23-year-old Lafayette man, Denzel Flugence, tragically died in a pedestrian accident on Sunday evening, September 8. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on La. Hwy 31 near Melanie Ln.

According to Louisiana State Police, Flugence was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north on the highway while he was in the roadway. Unfortunately, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe was unharmed and found to be properly restrained.

Authorities confirmed that the driver showed no signs of impairment. Toxicology samples were taken from Flugence for analysis. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
