Arnaudville, LA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Crash on LA Hwy 31

Arnaudville, LA (September 10, 2024) – A pedestrian was tragically killed in a crash on Louisiana Highway 31 near Melanie Ln on Sunday, September 8. Louisiana State Police Troop I reported that around 8:00 PM, 23-year-old Denzel Flugence from Lafayette was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound.

Flugence sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe, who was properly restrained, was unharmed and showed no signs of impairment following a voluntary breathalyzer test. 

Toxicology samples from Flugence were collected, and the investigation remains ongoing.
