Arlington Heights, IL (January 27, 2025) – A man tragically lost his life following a T-bone collision in the north suburbs on Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Cook Rd and Bloomington Ave, according to Arlington Heights police.
Authorities reported that a dark gray BMW M340i, driven by an 18-year-old man from Deer Park, was traveling eastbound on Lake Cook Rd at a high speed. A metallic brown 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was crossing onto Lake Cook Rd from Bloomington Ave when the BMW collided with the Jeep’s driver’s side. The impact caused the Jeep to overturn multiple times.
The driver of the Jeep, a 69-year-old man from Des Plaines, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at around 4 a.m. on Sunday. Police have not yet released his identity.
The BMW had three teenage passengers at the time of the crash. None of the occupants sought medical attention. The Arlington Heights Police Department continues to investigate the incident, including the role of speeding in the collision.
