Arbela, MO (March 5, 2025) – A serious crash involving two pickup trucks occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of US-136 and Arbela, leaving one person with severe injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 7:35 a.m. when a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 92-year-old man from Arbela, failed to observe traffic and entered the path of an eastbound 1998 GMC Sierra. The collision resulted in both vehicles sustaining total damage, requiring removal by Lakeside Towing.
Emergency responders, including the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, Gorin Fire Department, and Memphis Fire Department, assisted at the scene. Paramedics transported the 46-year-old female driver of the GMC Sierra, a resident of Memphis, MO, to Scotland County Hospital with serious injuries. The elderly male driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
