Anderson County, SC (January 11, 2025) – A woman was hospitalized Saturday morning after a boat sank during a private striped bass fishing tournament at Sadlers Creek State Park. Emergency responders, including Anderson County Emergency Management, dive teams, EMS, fire crews, and Uniform Patrol, quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.
Authorities reported that four individuals were aboard the boat when it began to sink. They alerted tournament staff, who called first responders for help. A nearby boat associated with the tournament rescued all four individuals from the freezing water and brought them to shore for medical evaluation.
Three of the four individuals were confirmed to be unharmed. However, one woman required CPR near the shore before being transported to the hospital. Her current condition remains unknown.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the boat’s sinking, and no further details have been released.
Our thoughts are with the hospitalized woman and her family, and we hope for a full recovery.
