Alva, FL (November 12, 2024) – A head-on collision on Joel Boulevard just north of Edwards Drive left two people seriously injured late Sunday night. The crash, reported at approximately 11:34 p.m., prompted a swift response from Alva Fire and Lehigh Acres Fire crews.
Emergency responders confirmed that an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman sustained serious injuries that met “Trauma Alert” criteria. Both were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center for treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, the woman was airlifted by LeeFlight helicopter from a nearby fire station.
The northbound lane of Joel Blvd remained blocked as officials managed the scene and conducted their investigation. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
