Vehicle Collisions in California
California’s highways, such as I-5, frequently cause traffic collisions due to high volumes of vehicles, speeding, and other hazardous driving behaviors. Early morning incidents are particularly dangerous as visibility is often limited.
In 2023, California reported over 200,000 vehicle collisions involving injuries, with many occurring on major highways. Common contributing factors include distracted driving, excessive speed, and failure to adhere to traffic laws.
