Albuquerque, NM (September 29, 2024) – Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a serious vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on Saturday evening, September 28, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m. The incident occurred in the 4500 block of 4th Street NW, near the intersection of 4th Street NW and Bellrose Avenue NW.
Upon arrival, APD officers and emergency workers from Albuquerque Fire Rescue found that the pedestrian had sustained serious injuries. Rescue 6 transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and appears to be cooperating with authorities. According to reports, when the driver called 911, they indicated that they did not see the pedestrian enter the lanes of travel.
As a result of the incident, APD has closed 4th Street in both directions between Bellrose Avenue and San Clemente Avenue to facilitate the investigation.
