Albuquerque, NM (February 9, 2025) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a woman in Northeast Albuquerque late Friday evening.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., APD officers responded to reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision near the intersection of Comanche Rd NE and Wellesley Dr NE. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unidentified female victim deceased in the eastbound lane of Comanche Road.

According to a nearby resident, the sound of screeching tires was heard just before the victim was found lying in the roadway. The vehicle responsible for the collision fled the scene before authorities arrived.
