Adair County, MO (November 11, 2024) – A pedestrian was fatally struck in an early-morning crash on US Highway 63, approximately one mile south of Sublette. Emergency responders, including the Kirksville Fire Department and Adair County Ambulance, were dispatched to the scene.
The incident occurred at around 4:47 AM. A 2006 Mercury Mariner SUV, driven by a 51-year-old male from Kirksville, MO, was traveling northbound when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian, a 53-year-old male from Greentop, MO, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Adair County Coroner Brian Noe at 6:07 AM. The SUV sustained moderate damage and will be removed by Kirksville Autoworks.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from their Major Crash Investigation Unit and local law enforcement agencies, is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
