Acoma Township, MN (November 3, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred this morning involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 22 and Mile Marker 130. The incident was reported at approximately 8:24 a.m. when a Dodge Nitro and a Nissan Juke collided under wet road conditions.
According to preliminary reports, the 2011 Dodge Nitro, driven by 58-year-old Darla Ann Macik from Cosmos, MN, was traveling westbound on Highway 7 when it collided with the southbound 2012 Nissan Juke, operated by 27-year-old Rachel Jane Denhof from Mankato, MN. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and airbags deployed in both cars during the collision.
Emergency services, including the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, and Hutchinson Fire, responded to the scene to provide assistance. Fortunately, both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Hutchinson Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. It was confirmed that both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, and there was no indication of alcohol involvement.
