Aberdeen, MD (February 21, 2025) – A house fire in Aberdeen left two people injured, including an Aberdeen Police Department officer, on Friday morning. The fire broke out in the 100 block of Darlington Avenue, prompting a large emergency response from the Aberdeen Fire Department and surrounding agencies.
Fire crews arrived at the scene at approximately 8:19 a.m. and immediately began efforts to contain the blaze. As conditions worsened, a second alarm was requested at 8:25 a.m. Emergency responders confirmed that two civilians sustained injuries in the fire.
By 8:46 a.m., EMS transported both victims, including the injured police officer, to a local hospital in stable condition. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed. Authorities, including the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
At 9:45 a.m., officials directed media staging in front of 196 Darlington Avenue as the investigation continued.
