Bloomington, IL (March 9, 2025) – A man lost his life, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Bloomington’s west side Saturday morning. The accident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of West Market Street and Wylie Dr, just west of Interstate 55/Interstate74.
According to the Bloomington Police Department, first responders arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures on one of the drivers. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital. His identity has not yet been released by the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
The other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Officials have not disclosed details about what led to the crash, and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
Traffic in the area was impacted as authorities worked to clear the scene and gather evidence.
