Ashland County, OH – 43-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash on N Market St

Ashland County, OH (March 6, 2025) – A 43-year-old man was killed in a crash on Wednesday evening following a police pursuit in Ashland County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred just after 6:15 p.m. on N Market Street near E Butler Street. Troopers reported that they were chasing Jerad Shaw, 43, for multiple traffic violations when the crash occurred.

Shaw was traveling northbound on State Route 3 when he failed to stop at the intersection of East Main Street. He continued north onto N Market Street, where he collided with a gray 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a white Lexus sedan.

Shaw was fatally injured in the crash. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Dodge was unharmed, while the driver of the Lexus sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Officials have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
