Shreveport, LA (March 5, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler and two passenger vehicles resulted in one fatality Tuesday night on LA Highway 79.
According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the 9500 block of LA Hwy 79. Deputies determined that a gray sedan traveling southbound attempted to turn in front of a northbound 18-wheeler, leading to a devastating crash. The force of the impact pushed the sedan into a second vehicle that had been following closely behind.
Emergency crews from Caddo Fire District 3 responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the gray sedan deceased. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Willis Knighton North for treatment. Additionally, the driver of the second passenger vehicle and a child passenger sustained injuries and were taken to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the fatal collision.
