Monongalia County, WV (March 5, 2025) – A crash involving a box truck and a sedan on Interstate 79 South near mile marker 159 resulted in injuries early Wednesday morning.
Authorities received reports of the collision at approximately 4:51 a.m. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found one person lying in the roadway, while a sedan was trapped beneath the box truck. Despite the severity of the crash, no entrapment was reported.
Officials temporarily shut down I-79 South while crews worked to assist the injured and clear the wreckage. The roadway was fully reopened by 6:42 a.m.
