Zephyrhills, FL (March 5, 2025) – A Zephyrhills couple was left homeless and one woman hospitalized after an SUV crashed into their mobile home at high speed on Monday night.
According to the Zephyrhills Police Department, 36-year-old Kyle Youngblood was behind the wheel when the vehicle plowed into the residence on 5th Avenue. Authorities believe he may have been driving under the influence at the time.
Eric Truluck, who was outside in the carport painting his motorcycle, described the crash as an explosion, throwing him to the ground. His 64-year-old girlfriend, Donna, was inside the home watching television when the SUV came to a stop in the living room.
Fearing the worst, Truluck rushed inside to check on her. Despite the severity of the crash, she survived but suffered multiple broken bones and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Youngblood allegedly fled the scene but was later caught and arrested. He now faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and reckless driving, with an ongoing investigation into possible DUI.
Truluck and his girlfriend have lost their home, adding to the emotional and financial burden of the accident.
We send our best wishes for Donna’s recovery and hope the couple finds the support they need during this difficult time.
