Verona, NY (March 4, 2025) – The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on Route 365 near Nicky Doodles early Tuesday morning.
According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, deputies responded to the scene just before 7:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a collision. Upon arrival, they confirmed that a pedestrian had been fatally struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.
Authorities temporarily shut down a section of Route 365 to conduct their investigation but have since reopened the roadway. Law enforcement officials are working to identify the driver involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details pending notification of the victim’s next of kin.
