St. Augustine, FL (March 4, 2025) – Two separate crashes on Monday night resulted in multiple injuries and two fatalities in northeast Florida, according to local authorities.
The first crash occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on Interstate 95, north of State Road 16. A northbound SUV lost control and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn. During the rollover, a passenger was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the southbound lanes, where he was struck by passing motorists. The victim, a man in his 40s from Orlando, was pronounced dead at the scene. Six other passengers in the SUV suffered injuries, though the extent of their conditions has not been released.
Earlier that night, just before 10:00 p.m., a man riding a bicycle was struck by a truck on the Arlington Expressway near Southside Connector Boulevard. The cyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released further details about the driver involved.
