Portland, ME (March 3, 2025) – A 57-year-old man from Portland was tragically killed after being struck by two vehicles while walking in the roadway near Forest Avenue and Walton Street on Sunday night.
According to Portland Police, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when a 22-year-old woman from South Portland struck the man with her vehicle. Reports indicate that she immediately exited her car to assist him, but as she attempted to help, a second vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man from Portland also struck the victim.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to Maine Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity as they notify his family. No charges have been filed at this time, and police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including why the pedestrian was in the roadway.
