Mercer County, PA (March 2, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident was reported late Sunday night on Interstate 79 Northbound near mile marker 80.8.
According to emergency dispatch reports, Stations 21, 22, and 51 were initially dispatched at approximately 11:12 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Due to availability, Station 62 and SQ-98 were also alerted.
Upon arrival, emergency responders confirmed a three-vehicle crash. One vehicle had crossed into the southbound lanes, colliding head-on with a guardrail, while two other vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision in the northbound lanes.
By 11:59 p.m., medical personnel evaluated the scene, with reports indicating two individuals refused treatment, while one person was taken into police custody.
All northbound lane units were cleared by 12:15 a.m., and all remaining emergency personnel were released from the scene by 12:48 a.m.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
