Indianapolis, IN (March 2, 2025) – A woman was fatally injured in a hit-and-run collision on Saturday evening on the near east side of Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), the crash occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of East Washington Street and North Rural Street. Officers responded to a report of a person struck and arrived to find a woman suffering from injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver involved fled the scene and has not yet been located.
